Draft Order creation generates a Shopify draft order automatically when a form is submitted. Use it for custom order intake forms, quote request forms, B2B ordering, or any use case where you need to review an order before fulfilling it.

Available on Pro+ only.

How to set up

Add required fields to your form

Add a Product Selection field and a Quantity Picker field to your form. These are mapped to the draft order's line items.

Enable draft order creation

In the form builder → Settings → Shopify → Draft Order → toggle Enable Draft Order on.

Map line items

Under Line Items, map your Product Selection field and Quantity Picker field to the draft order line items.

(Optional) Map tags and notes

  • Tags enter static tags to add to every draft order (e.g. custom-order, b2b)
  • Note Field select a Textarea or Text field whose value becomes the draft order's internal note

Save

Click Save.

Where draft orders appear

Created draft orders appear in Shopify Admin → Orders → Drafts. From there you can:

  • Review the line items and customer details
  • Add shipping or custom line items
  • Send an invoice to the customer
  • Convert the draft to a paid order

Use cases

Use caseForm setup
Custom product requestProduct Selection + Quantity + custom Text fields
B2B wholesale orderingProduct Selection + Quantity + Company Name
Quote requestsProduct Selection + budget/requirements Textarea
Event bookingQuantity for ticket count + Date field for event date

Draft orders are created but not automatically fulfilled or invoiced. Your team reviews and processes them manually from the Shopify admin. This is intentional it gives you full control before any payment is collected.
